You can finetune erosion with meticulous control through Erosion Studio’s landmark sculpting.

COMPLEX COLOR SYNTHESIS

Gaea’s color production is the best in the business. Generate detailed data from synthetic or real terrains. Utilize our vast collection of real world SatMaps to colorize your terrains. You will never need to create your own gradient. You can also use data maps to direct processes or color synthesis. Procedural textures can be used as-is or to drive game engine splat maps.

Gaea’s terrain render engine is the world’s first for high quality viewport usage and light baking.

INSTANT BIOMES

Data Maps – such as soil, water flow, occlusion, rock map, etc. – can create masks and influences in concert with the terrain shape. Data Maps can be added at any point in the graph, unlike other methods which restrict you to the data output of the Erosion process.

When you create biomes powered by Data Maps, you can switch between biome types, change influences, and even adapt the biome to a completely different terrain. Data Maps can be exported for use in other applications, such as Houdini.

The upcoming Arboreal Nodes will make believable distant forests. You can render these forests with Gaea’s terrain renderer to retain pixel-perfect shadow simulation. This will provide a higher level of realism for distant objects in games and matte paintings.
