Masterclasses 3 – How to make a Creature with Character : In this course, Ian will take you through his process of developing creatures and characters for films. The importance of infusing believable anatomy, history and most importantly, character, into the design. We will Focus on what makes a design work from simple drawing to final concept sculpts and renders that fully flesh it out into a workable creation that could be used in a film or game.

Currently Ian works as a full time freelance artist, focusing on creature, character and costume design. For over 6 years prior he had been a Lead Character Designer at Legacy Effects (formerly Stan Winston Studios), focusing on character design and digital sculpting/modeling. Working closely with some of the top directors, production designers and producers in the film industry. Prior to that he has been a freelance artist as well as a lead Character artist at Blur Studios for many years, working on everything from features and ride films to critically-acclaimed video game cinematics.

Ian has worked with some of the top names in entertainment. Clients have included: Lightstorm Entertainment, Marvel Studios, Paramount, Legendary Pictures,20th Century Fox, Digital Domain and Legacy FX/Stan Winston Studios.
