Figure Drawing with Ben Young : Instructor Critiques for Full Participation Students will be uploaded for viewing approximately one week after each class.
Date : Jan. 20- Feb 17th.
Length: 5 Weeks
Videos Uploaded: Wednesdays at 12pm PST.
Level : All Levels Welcome
Emphasis will be placed on gaining an in-depth understanding of the body’s underlying geometry and anatomical structure. We will work in a tonal fashion to interpret photo reference. The eye will be trained to observe, analyze, and execute edges, values, anatomical nuances, and ultimately calligraphy and idealization.

- Conte 1710b or Wolf’s Carbon 6B charcoal pencil
- Smooth Newsprint
- Single Edge Razor Blade
- Sanding Pad
- Kneaded Eraser

Ben Young has studied and taught at Watts Atelier for the past 20 years. He has worked as a freelance illustrator and conceptual designer.
