Quick Start to Animation
Quick Start to Animation in CINEMA 4D: Volume 1 – 3 :
Volume 1 :
Welcome to the Quick Start to Animation in CINEMA 4D. Quick Starts are a series of specially-constructed tutorials meant to be followed in sequence and include valuable exercises to reinforce learned concepts. The lesson format for these Quick Starts will be similar to other Digital-Tutors introductory training. We’ll go through CINEMA 4D’s Animation Tools in a very methodical way, making sure to cover the tools and techniques that are most important in enabling you to get up and running quickly. Each volume of a Quick Start will build upon the previous volume, enabling us to progressively build up a complex project into a finished state. In this initial volume, we’ll cover the basics of getting started with the animation tools in CINEMA 4D. We’ll learn how to set our animation preferences and record keyframes. We’ll learn about CINEMA 4D’s Tracks Manager, which is used to retime animation. We’ll also jump into the FCurves Manager and learn how it can be used to polish and cycle animation in CINEMA 4D. To conclude the tutorial, we’ll learn how to view our work in real time. While building a project together, you’ll be provided with valuable knowledge, but the real power comes from being able to take the techniques you’ve learned and apply them in a different way to your own work. With this in mind, you’ll be presented with an assignment immediately following each volume. These assignments will challenge you to take the skills that you’ve learned in a particular volume and apply them to a different asset. These tutorials are designed to be taken in sequence, so we really encourage you to start with this volume and proceed all the way through to Volume 3, all so you can take advantage of the periodic assignments along the way to get the full learning experience. For an additional learning resource, download your free copy of our Key Animation Terms Reference Guide and PDF so you can get comfortable with important 3D animation terminology.
Volume 2 :
Welcome to Volume 2 of the Quick Start to Animation in CINEMA 4D, a series of specially constructed tutorials meant to be followed in sequence and interspersed with valuable exercises to reinforce learned concepts. In this Volume, we’ll build on the concepts covered in Volume 1. We’ll start by learning how to animate with constraints. We’ll then learn about path animation, and to conclude the training, we’ll delve deeper into the FCurves Manager, learning more about the amazing tools it offers to help us bring our work to the next level. These tutorials are designed to be taken in sequence so we really encourage you to start with Volume 1 before continuing with this section. We also encourage you to take advantage of the assignments that follow each Volume. These assignments will allow you to take what you’ve learned and apply those tools and techniques to your own projects.
Volume 3 :
Welcome to Volume 3 of the Quick Start to Animation in CINEMA 4D, a series of specially constructed tutorials meant to be followed in sequence and interspersed with valuable exercises to reinforce learned concepts. In this Volume, we’ll build on the concepts covered in Volume 2. We’ll start by learning how to animate with Selection Objects. We’ll then learn how utilize CINEMA 4D’s robust Motion System to animate non-linearly and non-destructively with Motion Clips. Once our clips have been made, we’ll learn how to export them to create a library of Motion Sources, and then how to import them back into C4D. We’ll also learn how to blend Motion Clips and create time warp effects. These tutorials are designed to be taken in sequence so we really encourage you to start with Volume 2 before continuing with this section.
