3D Illustration and Environment Modeling Workflows : In this Masterclass, Toni will demonstrate the techniques and workflows used in making his 3D environments and illustrations. The goal is to explain the entire process from the initial idea to the finalized product. He will show you how to organize environment scenes for easier managing and more efficient rendering. After that, he will demonstrate how to build materials and create material libraries. Utilizing power of procedural modeling and scattering he will create some environment elements with a non-destructive workflow using RailClone and Forest Pack 3ds Max plugins. Final renders will be color corrected in the compositing app Fusion. With this class you will be able to better understand the entire process of creating 3D environments and possibly integrate some of the techniques into you own workflows.

Toni Bratincevic is a senior environment modeler at Blizzard Entertainment working with the animation team on the latest Blizzard cinematics. He is a self-taught artist whose passion for 3D art was kindled when he was exposed to 3D generated art pieces and movies such as Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park in the 90s. Never having the opportunity to study art and animation, he first explored 3D art as a hobby while obtaining a degree in IT.

Toni began his career almost 15 years ago, working as a 3D generalist for a company in Croatia which produced commercials and documentaries. A couple of years later, he moved to the United States, where his work revolved around pre-rendered game cinematics, first at Blur Studio and then with the Blizzard cinematics team. He found working on cinematics to be the perfect balance; it gave him the opportunity to work in video games while being able to create VFX quality art.
