Strokes Generator for 3ds Max : I am ready to again share with you one, in my opinion, my interesting script ..
Why, in my opinion, I found this interesting, since the topic is very sore ..
I think you and I have done this many times in different ways, from low poly texturing to immersion in Zbrush .. And all this usually takes precious time …
And puzzling for several days over this matter, I managed to get closer to the ideal, well, as I believe)) estimated as – (time spent / quality of result).
You need to select a spline, or select the edges (edges) in your editable grid. From these selections, the script automates and creates a new spline .. by automatically shifting the necessary vertices for (“ring” and closed forms), all variants of different shapes cannot be predicted – so I left the modifier not collapsed .. which can control the slope of the line to one or another side .. depending on the desired result.
At the same time, it is important to understand that for the implementation of even more complex forms, you can hang other modifiers (for example, FFD) on top to more accurately edit the form .. while the modifiers will only control the selected points (they are selected automatically when creating a new spline).
The script works with Editable Poly, Spline, or a modifier (Edit Poly) – you can not collapse your stack, but throw “Edit Poly” on top to select the desired faces. (It’s convenient if TurboSmooth or similar modifiers lies on top of your editable grid)
As I said, the script will create a spline, which will give us the whole result in geometry (as it is important for me).
